The Business Analyst's role is to elicit, analyse, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders, be they customers or end users. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need.

The Business Analyst will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help the business make appropriate and beneficial technology decisions. The Business Analyst will also be proactive about working with the Emerging Technology Analyst to look for new technologies to optimise business processes.

The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT's understanding of business requirements through several strategic migration projects from Legacy systems. The Business Analyst will produce as-is and to-be process maps, challenge the norm, build functional and non-functional specifications, produce configuration guides and work alongside Subject Matter Experts in designing new improved processes.

Skills

Experience with either London Markets or General Insurance
Experience with Insurance or Broking Administration systems essential.
Solid understanding of project management tools and techniques.
A core competency in business analysis and some formal training.
Experience working on a large-scale project/programme implementing software and process solutions.
Processing mapping/modelling experience of at least one standard, eg BPMN.
Experience of 1 or more software delivery methodologies, ideally Agile.
Excellent communication/interpersonal/stakeholder management skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Experience of facilitating workshops.
Use of Visio and equivalent online tools.
Data mapping and requirements gathering skillsets

Pricing Specialist - Large Corporate Insurance

 

 About the roleBased at our impressive Head Office in Stratford-Upon-Avon and with excellent working from home flexibility, this Pricing Specialist role offers you the exciting prospect of joining a successful and innovative team who share the common goal of setting up fair and accurate prices for our customers.
You will be responsible for the research, development, building and implementation of an Excel-based deterministic rating tool for large Commercial Property risks and for leading the maintenance and improvement of the existing Excel-based deterministic rating tool for large Casualty corporate risks. This will include derivation, conducting impact reviews, documenting results and updating its underlying input assumptions as well as communicating the impact of the updates on output prices to relevant stakeholders.
As part of your role, you will be proactively identifying and recommending pricing actions for resolving challenges, realising opportunities and implementing future pricing improvements to include the use of new and innovative pricing tools and methods with the aim of ensuring the continuous enhancement of the company’s pricing capability.

• Demonstrate expertise in using GAM to perform an assurance engagement in compliance with auditing standards
• Identify areas requiring improvement in the clients business processes and possible recommendations and prepare and deliver Management Letter to be provided to the client

• Coach other less experienced staff through sharing experience and knowledge appropriately.

• Honours degree qualified
• Fully or partially ACA/CA/ACCA (ICAEW, ICAS, Irish Institute or equivalent international qualification) - preferably first time passes
• Excellent technical expertise with proven industry knowledge
• Proven experience in delivering external audit and assurance engagements in the Financial Services industry, with particular experience in the Insurance market

Ideally, you’ll also have
• Ability to coach and develop more junior members of staff.
